Mount Sunapee in Newbury: Take the Summit Trail to the top. From the summit, you can either hike down the mountain, or hike to Lake Solitude on the back side of the mountain. You might also like the Andrew Brook Trail, on the backside of the mountain, off Mountain Road, which also takes you to Lake Solitude (great for families). (Phone: 763-2356. Sunapee-Ragged-Kearsarge Greenway in New London: The SRK Greenway is a 75-mile trail linking the summits of Sunapee, Ragged and Kearsarge mountains. (Web Site: www.srkg.com)

Many area towns offer firework displays, parades and other holiday activities. Celebrations depend on when the holiday falls; dates change as some towns celebrate on July 4 or July 3, or the nearest weekend.
